Logo Transparency over Flash Video

We’ve been having issues with our ability to use PNG graphics as the source for a logo on the Flash videos. Take a look at this.

The problem is that using PNG doesn’t work and the Jpeg doesn’t allow alpha transparencies. We need to get rid of the white box and have some approaches but its an example of the little details that will drive you crazy .tranparant logo overlay

You should be able to load a png with transparency with Flash 8 or above. haven’t tried it yet myself. The other option is to place the png in a swf and load the swf.

Thanks Nevin,

I didn’t think to try the swf. Good one. I’ll let you know.

I just wandered here and noticed your problem. I had a similar problem and solved the lack of transparency by using “save for web” in photoshop. This allowed me to optimize and maintain the transparency. Hope this helps.

Try using Adobe Premiere Pro or AfterEffects (among others) to key out the background in your logo using color key or luma key. Then just put it in a layer above the video and render it out.
